Die cut labels have rounded corners. There is a small gap between the labels on the sheet and there is also a margin around the page. This allows printers that cannot print to the very edge of the page enough space to be able to print to the very edge of the label.

The main alternative to die cut labels is Butt Cut which have no margin or space between the labels. They are also squared at the corner of the label rather than rounded.
